On behalf of the local Organizing Committee for the 7th National Association of Plant Breeders and the 10th Plant Breeding Coordinating Committee meeting, we invite your organization to join in sponsoring our annual meeting being held at the University of California, Davis on August 7-10, 2017.

UC Davis has a long history of providing networking opportunities for students, faculty, and private industry through Seed Central and the Plant Breeding Center. As private industry participates routinely in these events, we expect that to extend to the NAPB meeting. The university is surrounded by over 100 agriculture-related companies focusing on development of over 250 crop commodities grown in California. The broad diversity of crops in California and near Davis allows for a large appreciation of diversity of breeding programs. UC Davis has also been named the top university in the world for the past 5 years in Agriculture and provides a rich environment for discussion at the 2017 meeting entitled:

Here are some highlights planned for the NAPB/PBCC 2017 meeting at UC Davis:

  • Reception and banquet featuring local bands
  • Pre- and post-conference tours near Davis and Salinas
  • Integration of USDA/NIFA Project Director meeting
  • Poster sessions and 1-minute poster introductions
  • Award talks and 2017 awards
  • Sessions on high-throughput phenotyping, breeding for nutritional quality, breeding for organic systems, and gene editing
  • Student workshops on management of breeding programs

Sponsor contributions will be used to help offset costs of facilities, refreshments, meals, conference fees, and graduate student travel in order to deliver an outstanding, professional conference. Listed below are several levels of sponsorship funding we have created, each with attractive benefits. We encourage sponsorship from both public and commercial sectors.
